- The mission of the Walt Whitman Football program is: To instill in each player the values of integrity, loyalty, perseverance, and hard work; To help each player achieve academic success; To maximize the development of each player's athletic ability; To teach each player how to handle adversity with poise and success with humility; To create an environment of respect and trust among players and coaches; and To prepare each player to be successful both on the football field and in life beyond football.
